  1. What is Financial Education?
Financial education teaches the knowledge, skills and attitudes that people can use
to adopt good money management practices for earning, spending, savings, borrowing and investing. Even in the absence of financial services this can help to significantly improve livelihoods by allowing people to make better informed choices about how they manage their money.

  2. How can I join the partnership?
Membership to the partnership is open to any private or public sector organiza]on
that has an interest to promote the cause of financial educa]on. Membership is voluntary and offers a good networking plavorm with other ins]tu]ons that are interested in ensuring a more financially capable public. Membership to the Financial education partnership taskforce is however limited. Taskforce members who cannot exceed 15 in number are elected as sector representatives by other members.   3. Do you charge a membership fee to join the partnership?
Membership to the partnership is voluntary and free of charge. Members are required however to commit both time and own resources towards assisting the project to deliver a national strategy for financial education in Kenya, which would ultimately benefit member organization

  4. What are the government initiatives that are being undertaken in Financial education in Kenya?
Recognising the incremental challenges in the economic and social environment especially those faced by both the providers and recipients of financial services and where individuals are required to take more responsibility for managing their money, the government has started to work with the private sector to develop the improvement of financial capability in Kenya through the Financial Education Partnership (FEP). The ministry of Finance, Education and youth & Sports are
members of the FEP Taskforce. The Central bank of Kenya has also initiated a project to promote financial education in Kenya, which has been incorporated into a strategic plan. Read more at the Central Bank site

  5. Where can I report incidences of fraud? There are various offices where you could report incidences of fraud that potential affect your money status including pyramid schemes. You may report these to your nearest police station or to the Central Bank of Kenya.
